Cultivation Method
Sowing Time :
For Kharif season – from June to the first week of July. For Summer season – at the end of January when the temperature is around 23°C to 25°C.
Seed Variety :
SGR – 5555, TAG – 24, TG – 37A, GG – 10 / 20 / 22 / 40 / 32 and other notified varieties.
Plant Spacing :
Spacing varies according to the variety. Bunch type: (18 to 20 inches). Semi-spreading type: (24 to 30 inches).
Seed Rate :
50 to 70 kg per acre.
Chemical Requirement :
Apply DAP and NPK at 50 kg per acre.
Weed Control :
Hand weeding and intercultivation should be done at the proper time.
Pest/Disease Control :
Treat seeds before sowing and spray suitable fungicides and insecticides at the proper time.
Crop Duration :
90 to 120 days.
Expected Yield :
High yield
